Actinic keratosis

Actinic keratosis (solar keratosis) is a lesion that develops on areas of sun damaged skin. The lesion is usually reddish in colour with with a yellowish to white scale over it, usually measuring 3-6mm in diameter.  Sometimes they are painful if rubbed. They are significant in that they can on occasion become malignant.
