For Podiatrists biomechanics is the application of mechanics to the function of the foot and its impact on other structures. Foot function is vitally important for movement and a whole range of foot problems. An understanding of the principles of biomechanics plays a huge role in clinical decision making for a range of foot and related lower limb problems.
