Gower’s sign

Gowers’ sign is a sign that is common in the muscular dystrpphies which indicate a weakness of the proximal muscles of the lower limb. The sign is used to describe a patient that has to use his hands and arms to “walk” up their body from a squatting position due to lack of proximal muscle strength.
